The citizens of Iraq topped the list of the most foreign buyers of homes in Turkey during the month of June.

This came according to data released by the Turkish Statistics Authority on Monday.

The data showed that Iraqi citizens purchased 773 homes during the mentioned month, followed by Iranians with 683, then Russians with 300, Afghans with 250 and Germans with 192.

The data added that the number of homes sold to foreigners throughout Turkey during June reached 4,748.

The number of homes sold throughout Turkey in June to foreigners and locals reached 134,731 homes, an increase of 127.7 percent compared to sales last May.

Istanbul topped the list of Turkish states selling homes with 25,833, followed by the capital, Ankara, with 13,401, and Izmir ranked third with 7,522 homes.

With regard to selling homes to foreigners, the percentage rose last June, 185.3%, compared to sales in the same month last year.
